October 2024 Update

Since our last update, RRHMA-Silvis has been diligently working at many things.

- - Work continues on various parts for both 3985 & 5511, from work on the front and rear flange sheets, parts for the cab of 3985, fighting for 5511’s dry pipe, 3985s tube sheet and more
  - Volunteers continue cleaning out the former UP diner 5016 in preparation for restoration.
  - Sanding continues on the UP caboose, getting it ready for new paint.
  - The Cicero turntable donated by BNSF has arrived and is awaiting future installation.
  - Work continues on freshen up things on and around the property, from painting gates and doors, to new windows in the offices.
  - New to RRHMA-Silvis former US Army 80 ton locomotive arrived ready for repairs to run again, more info to come on this in a future update!
