Join Railroading Heritage of Midwest America, along with Dave Zeman Photography, for our first ever historical railroad shop photo shoot inside of the Rock Island Steam Shops! Featuring live period-correct actors with our 1923 Baldwin steam locomotive, Union Pacific No. 5511, this is a photo shoot that you will not want to miss!
Shop Scenes - 6:00PM
Upon arrival, guests will be greeted and guided through RRHMA’s steam restoration facility to our first few scenes of the photo session. Guests will have the opportunity to take multiple pictures of our latest steam restoration project, Union Pacific No. 5511.
Costumed reenactors will be present for this particular photo shoot, depicting traditional shop scenes from the 1930’s with period-accurate equipment. Scenes will include various actions, such as sparks flying, welding, and more!
Once the Union Pacific No. 5511 shoot concludes within the hour, guests will have the opportunity to visit with The Hungry Hobo on site for a boxed sandwich, chips, a drink, and cookies; all provided with your ticket purchase!
Outdoor Scenes - 8:00PM
After the conclusion of our indoor scenes with 5511, guests will have the opportunity to travel outdoors to our next scenes, featuring the world’s largest diesel locomotive: Union Pacific DD-40-X No. 6936. This American Railroading icon will be featured outside our facility, along with never-before-seen Union Pacific equipment!
This scene will also feature costumed reenactors set in the mid 1970’s railroading era, with period-accurate equipment.
The outdoor photo shoot will conclude with RRHMA crew running UP #6936 to the west end of our facility, where it will be located for our public display the following day for our Silvis Train Days & Classic Cars event.

Tickets for the Silvis Shops Photo Shoot will be limited to 40 guests. Tickets are available on a first-come basis; all ticket sales are final.

When you arrive at the gate, please have your tickets ready, only ticketed guests are permitted on RRHMA property.
Parking at RRHMA-Silvis is available on a first-come basis, overnight parking is not permitted.
RRHMA-Silvis gate admission opens at 5:30 PM, and closes at 6:30 PM.
